The Answer in the Eyes
A Christian/rap song.

Many cynics love to fit us into the mould
Telling us to prove the beliefs that we hold
False leaders say they’re right so we’re sold
But the only idea they’ve thought up recently
Is disobedience equals fiery pain for eternity

It seems our mortal reward is to be trapped
It’s another human law that should be scraped
These two worlds have us carefully wrapped
Into packages that label us as sinners or fools
Since we’re stuck in this land of Satan’s rules

(Chorus)
But the answer’s in all Christian eyes
With His’ in the mirror along with mine
It’s only him we need till the end of time

Our bad reputation piles up as if it’s snow
Due to the human world being all they know
But into His grace is a comforting place to go
I saw it when that eye light first began to shine
An ultraviolet force that must surely be divine

When a Brother in God and I are in line
Some heart is seemingly touching mine
Through clear soul windows they shine
The looking glass reveals that it’s in mine
The proof of His presence in my lifetime

Chorus

In my greatest moments I can now see
I was living for my friends and family
Before I started surviving for triviality
A transparent life that could only seem
Like one more endless bewitching dream

I knew this must be worse than bad luck
The truth was the blaring horn of a truck
Sending a signal like a bell being struck
That selling you’re soul like this is piracy
Saying it’s time to face up to your reality

Chorus

As if before a thrown I fell to my knees
Begging for an any kind of new life please
Inescapable pain is all a man like me sees
Chains invisible on this unknowing slave
I didn’t realize that even I could be saved

Then God’s great light shone down on me
Told me I could be free of all this misery
The dark clouds hung above me ominously
But His fingers reached all the way through
All it took was my infant hand stretching too

Chorus
