The Flower and The Bee
Forbidden love

He flutters by on translucent wings
And I try to gather light
To turn it into energy and make my petals bright

He flutters back and once he lands
Caresses me with gentle hands
And takes the pollen to stay alive
Then non chalantly flutters away to his hive

Oh damn these roots that hold me
For how I long to fly
To flutter with him with my petals
Instead of watching him go by

Oh how Mother Nature has jested
Oh how she must laugh at me
For she knows that it is stupid
For a flower to love a bee
