He flutters by on translucent wings
And I try to gather light To turn it into energy and make my petals bright He flutters back and once he lands Caresses me with gentle hands And takes the pollen to stay alive Then non chalantly flutters away to his hive Oh damn these roots that hold me For how I long to fly To flutter with him with my petals Instead of watching him go by Oh how Mother Nature has jested Oh how she must laugh at me For she knows that it is stupid For a flower to love a bee
