Blink
A truth (not THE truth) about breaking up...

The colors are faded, awaiting the light,
as I drift through the streets, all black and white.
A thought of you lights up my mind like the dawn.
Blink and you’re here; blink and you’re gone.

Yesterday you were my lover and friend.
I didn’t believe that it would ever end.
Then suddenly it seems you were withdrawn.
Blink and you’re here; blink and you’re gone.

Now I drift through each day with my heart shattered.
You’ve found a new love as if we never mattered.
I feel myself dying. I don’t think I can go on.
Blink and I’m here...
                                  ...blink and I’m gone.
