Winter Bloom
What survives the coldness of anothers heart?

Desiccated, lifeless, it lays against my cheek.
Gone is the gentle flower replaced by my pique.
I feel the tears of sadness, heartbreak is my fate,
but mixed with the unhappiness is a modicum of hate.

The anger grows within me from a garden of despair.
The bright promises he made me lie broken, so beware.
Never will I bind myself to again become love’s slave.
I will keep this flower with me...
...and lay it on his grave.

Notes:
Prompt: PAPER HEARTS CAN NEVER BREAK
