Dear Kai,

Hatsu and I are so happy here in Petu City, and with the baby on the way Hatsu has been crazy over protective, and right now, he is out getting the groceries so I don’t have to do it though whenever he goes grocery shopping we always end up with too much Saki and not enough veggies. *Sigh* that man is crazy but I love him like no other. We were worried about you when you just disappeared like that, but that was a wonderful letter you sent and I’m glad you are doing well. What have you been doing since we beat the Yotogi? Are you going to be coming around anytime soon? I hope so we would love to see you again. Hatsu just got back and I can see that he has done a great job this time, and for once he didn’t get any Saki! Can you believe that? I hope to hear from you soon Kai.

Quinta

Hey, driftwood, Hatsu here; I don’t know what you are up to but if you need any help just send word and I’ll be there. Take care of yourself.

Hatsu

Kai sat with his back against a tree reading his recent letter from Quinta and Hatsu. Since the Yotogi had been stopped, Kai went in search of ways for him to control his power over the GREAT RAIN. The final fight with the Yotogi unleashed something inside him that was good but also dark in Kai.

Lightening struck like a beating drum as Kai lay back on the grass just looking over the beautiful landscape thinking about all the adventures he and his friends Quinta and Hatsu had while they were all together. He missed them and wished them the best in their new life together. He would miss their time together but now he was on his own so that he could find his other half sort of and finish the fight between them once, and for all. Now with the Yotogi gone he didn’t have to worry too much about anything all that bad. However, he could feel something out there through his connection with the GREAT RAIN. It was something dark not unlike the Yotogi, but this was something different something he learned from the GREAT RAIN that was older then the Yotogi.

Kai had been going through the books at the library with Hatsu when he first came across the book that held this information. It was placed there in special script so that only the one possessing connection with the GREAT RAIN could see. The prophesy foretold the coming of the GREAT RAIN but also what would happen as a result. It said:

The GREAT RAIN will show in a time of need, but from this will birth an evil that only he or she can end. The seed of evil shall root in the far reaches and come to only that is old and bitter making them young and powerful in the ways of the earth. The GREAT RAIN will have to battle this evil or give over its power thus giving up the life of all they hold dear.

Kai just could not bear to be the cause of his loved one’s death so he took this burden upon himself. Just as the last blow was struck and the dust settled Kai disappeared but made sure no one was gunning for Hatsu and Quinta before making his final departure. Kai stood from his comfortable spot grabbing his Hittokiri as he did so along with his backpack with all his supplies he gathered from the previous town he was at trying to get more information on the prophesy.

“I will find this evil and protect the one’s I love no matter what.” Kai said, smelling the sweet scent of fresh baked bread on the wind coming from the south.
