Grains of Sand
written by hamjammer

We all together were surprised
And no one there even knew why
Lying in the bed with cancer
The doctor said you were going to die

Condemned to your bed
What a way to end your life
Not old age or bullet shot
Not even suicide with a knife

You had live the minutes free
Although we all had doubt
We couldn’t let you die like that
And that is why we broke you out.

Away from the hospital
We drove on the road that lays
Running to the beach
To spend our final days

Living inside a nook
Taking nice strolls on the sands
He was told by many to rest
But we didn’t listen to their demands

And so he died
We buried you under the land
And I brought you the thing you loved most
A single grain of sand
