Dreaming Darkly

It is the whisper that fills the ear
A dark promise no one else seems to hear
The internal voice that tries to scream
Pushing emotions beyond their extreme

One verbal slice of the knife
Another failed attempt at life
Bottomless eyes with a sinister gleam
Calculating the next cold, evil scheme

The husk of being has all but paled
This heart inside forever jailed
Seduction fades into twin crimson streams
The charming façade is not what it seems

The desire to survive feels everything strange
A stake in hand speaks of infinite change
As death appears as the predominate theme
Our horror show plays out one final scene

You are the darkness of my dreams
