YOU REMIND ME OF MUSIC
 

Inspired by a Yanni Concert on PBS

You remind me of music
When the violin peak at a crescendo
You are there in my mind
Rewinding the memories of time
Sustained by the artist’s bow

You remind me of music
When the soprano voices meet the test
Of every instrument that blends the best
When great contraltos reach their peak
And there is no time for Largo

Trumpets sound but do not blare
Sonorous music fills my air
My love, you are there
The drums never miss a beat
My heart literally grows feet
Violins applaud!

To hold your hands and see your eyes
Seeing the harpist adding to our prize
Of gifts to senses of sight and sound
So intense that I feel I will drown
Beauty prevails!

Woodwinds, percussions, strings, and horns
Remind us of reasons to be born
To hear such magical rhapsodies
Designed for future memories
We are enriched!

Have you heard of the Armenian Duduk?
Played by its master like an old time lute
Making notes of sadness and beauty blend
Coaxing clarinets, piccolos, cellos, violins
Look! Gold Top guitars joining in
Bravo!

The Conductor refuses to open his eyes to see
Thousands of awed recipients like me
Record these moments so they will not go away
Reminding me of your music every day
Take a Bow!

You remind me of that music
I am enwrapped with the muse of it
Musical companions sit to begin and end
I am so sorry I can’t capture it with my pen.

Author's Comment:  This is the first creation in response to a Yanni Concert on PBS.  So much was in my mind, that two poems were created:  You Remind Me Of Music I and II.  Tell me which one do you prefer?  I can't delete or combine them.  They have taken on a life of their own.
