Mine
This is a poem I wrote after the hardest day of my life.

Feel free to read and comment, but I won't be revising this piece.

You were a surprise, an unplanned gift.
I laughed and cried, saw my future shift.
I was so scared, felt so alone,
but you were there, you kept me going on.
We'd have been great, you and me.
A team united, a guarantee.
I began to dream, to be excited,
the future I saw made me so delighted.
Now you've been stolen before you were here.
Now I've had to watch that future disappear.
I didn't know your name, or even your zodiac sign,
but I knew you were perfect, and I knew you were mine.
