YOU COVER ME WITH POSITIVE GIFTS
Gifting Trilogy Part III An Anniversary Poem July 14, 2004

Am I embarrassed to me?
Me, with all of my flaws
You won’t let me be
You will not tolerate self-criticism
You cover me with positive gifts
I am truly loved by you

Therefore, death cannot conquer us
With thinning hair
Dulling sight
Frail grasps
Passion at rest
Finally, no soft sighing

Can death conquer such memories
Of skin to skin
Breathe to breathe
Touch to touch
Ever living – ever alive

Yesterday was but a moment
Today, a second or two
But Tomorrow, tomorrow is a promise
By Jah
My love, this temporal scene is fleeing
We have given every good thing there is
Our hearts can do no more
Therefore, our hands respond to love’s
Compellation
