PROMPT: Imagine this: You are in the middle of surfing the Net when you look out the window. A building across the street catches your attention, but then something extraordinary happens: you blink, and the building disappears. Yes, it's not an illusion. It's well and truly gone!
The full moon shone so extraordinarily bright that I could have turned out my twelfth floor office light and still surfed the net. Why am I still here at midnight? I desperately need to find something special for my wife, Abby, for Christmas, and if I surfed at home, she would be looking over my shoulder and there would be no secret.
The moon, however, keeps me looking out the window and thinking about taking Abby on a moonlight cruise for New Year's Eve. Then, I see that the building across the street is dressed in some fabulous Christmas lights. Wow! I wonder how many people actually see those l... Aaw, they must turn them off at midnight. Wait, they're back on. Now they're off. Wait, the whole building's gone. I rub my eyes. I've stayed here too long. I'm seeing things. I look out the window and the building is back again.
Deciding that I've stayed at my office too long, I turn off my computer and grab my coat. As I exit the building, there is a television crew set up and David Copperfield is practicing for his upcoming special.
Shaking my head, I walk toward the subway laughing to myself.
