A GLIMPSE OF GLORY ON A MUNDANE AFTERNOON

While waiting at a red light on my drive home from work, feeling bored by the triteness of life, I look up and see an elderly lady riding a tricycle. She is adorned in a multi-colored house dress --- what we used to call a duster. With silent distinction she crosses the intersection in front of a multitude of cars, her dress billowing in the wind and wispy white hair streaming. It is the most uplifting, glorious sight and just what I need to see at this moment.

Looking upward with a smile, I whisper... Thank-you.
