Three Minutes

Four score and 100 seconds
to give or make or change a life.
Three minutes, an eternity,
inching before husband and wife.

Tears of hope fill every eye,
hearts pounding anticipation.
Three minutes, a timeless journey
toward heartbreak or elation.

The answer suddenly appears,
hearts and world all come to a stop.
Three minutes, the death of a dream.
Negative result; all hopes drop.
