In the tapestry of colours,
adorned in bright maroon,
eyes, the color of ocean blue
and cheeks, blushing red.

Face, fair with glimpses of healthy pink
and hands adorned with jewelery and henna,
the bride's mark, as they say.

That little green bindi on the forehead
matching the saree's border,
the twinkling nose ring
and the dangling earrings.

The dress covering the head,
jingling and glittering bangles on the wrist,
nails decorated with polish,
little feet peeping from under the saree,
henna on them dark and fresh.

Yet the eyes waiver back,
to reside on the face.
Though the smile is sheepish and discrete,
the blossom and healthy glow is stark clear,
as she dreams of a lovely life ahead of her...
