Her sightless eyes cried remembrance at playful splashing. A mother on the beach with shielded sun eyes gazed at every sound. “Hunnie, Don’t play too far out.” Her hearing gauged distance like a hawk finding prey. Her head never turned away, not once. It’s hard to hear a playful splash crashing beneath other sound waves.
