Dressed up and armed to practice her aim out in the field, Christina opened her front door.
Only to find something drawn on it. A picture or a symbol of some kind She ran back in to look at the security tapes. On the way she radioed her only bodyguard. Together they sat down and reviewed the tapes. "What?" She whispered. They saw nothing. The cameras went all set at what should have been a suitable setting but yet they didn't cover the right area. Turning to the alarm settings she asked him to continue checking and she got up to go back to her door. Her home was simple, average, yet was suppose the most secure in the area. She was a bit curious, annoyed, and pissed that this happened. Skunks once snuck into her home. Whatever or whoever did this had to have been somewhat small. Once at the door she pondered the designed. It was crude yet it looked like- Ring. Ignoring the phone she scrapped off of whatever it was that was used to make it. Staring at it on her finger she stayed curious. She had seen this stuff before. Where? Back inside she went into her office and wiped her finger on a tissue and looked at the stuff with a magnifying glass. As she did so she was aware the phone starting ringing again. She hit the speaker button. "Hello." "Christina! Thank god you're there. Listen it's Nevada Brace and I need your help." Sigh "Now is not a good time." "It's about my sister's-" Cutting her off Christina snapped. "If it has anything to do with your sister, I'm not interested. Not after she replayed my nightmare in that video of hers. Good bye." She pressed the button again cutting off Nevada's response. Maybe she shouldn't have but somethings were more important than remembering mistakes. She left the scrapings and starting thinking of the shape. It looked almost Mayan, yet it wasn't something she had seen herself in any of the temples. It was almost like... It hit her. Like one of those designed from the video. Video. Nevada's call. What's the connection? What could possibly connect the two? The phone rang yet again. Really curious now she pressed the speaker phone button. "Hello." Christina? It's Antarctica." With a bit of burning and ache in her chest, that she refused to give in to, Christina snapped back. "The country or the woman who humiliated me on national TV?" "Not now. Hate me later. And don't hang up on me." "And why not." "Because I'm all the way down here at the bottom of the world and I only get one shot at this call because of a storm." She sighed and when she did so Christina picked up the tremble in her voice. She was upset and was trying really hard to hold it in. When she spoke again, it was to say why. "It's Calypso. She disappeared. I left her and Akula with Nevada because it's too dangerous down here and that idiot of a man Nevada has apparently let my baby girl watch the video I made of you with him. You know Calypso worships you. The next thing Mark knew, she was gone!" "Which video?" "Temple." Christina sat back and closed her eyes. She pictured the video in her mind with the fake blood, the fighting and the sexual themes. "He watched it with her! I'm going to kill him!" "Christina. Please. I need you help to find Calypso. Nevada's house isn't far from yours. Maybe one of your cameras that scans the grounds saw her." "Not likely. Only if she went this way. I already reviewed them this morning. I had some vandalism on the front door that-" She stopped. Temple. It hit her. A fake meanless Mayan symbol. "I think I know where she is. Stay on the line." She got up and ran out the room. Halfway down the hall she remembered she was armed and she took off her hip holsters as she ran. She also called out for her bodyguard to follow her. Unarmed. She went to the next building and walked in. First thing she spotted was more Mayan symbols. As well as the words. "I luv u" all over her work out room. Siting in the middle of the floor was Antarctica Brace's three year old child, Calypso covered in ink from her marker. Holding the phone to her head Christina spoke. "I'm scream at your sister's idiot of a man later but I found Calypso. She is here." Antarctica started crying. Christina handed the phone to the child and picked her up. She wasn't mad anymore. She just felt concern over how much the child clearly loved her. Calypso squealed with delight and gave her a kiss. "I love you too." A little love goes a long way. WDC Word Count 817
