A Poem's Birth as a poem is birthed, a poet comes home A poet's life, an inner trip with pen near to a paper slip to record the slightest sound that's beginning to stir around with contractions in the mind that are out of place, out of time. It's those thoughts that do not fit within the daily dust and grit. The ones that stand all apart and rise up from the poet's heart. There is a poem to be birthed with all the labor - it is worth that one painful final push as the words arrive in a rush. Take the blanket, wrap it round this new poem, you have found. The creation process done; bask awhile in glowing sun. Then with pride begin to show this new life to all who know that the birthing of a poem is a little like coming home.
