May Your Heart Know Love
An older poem re-written dedicated to a special person.

Your heart is like a majestic mountain peak
So high above the sacred and windswept valley
Of human mistrust and broken dreams.
Whether we are together for days or mere hours
The view I get from atop this enormous perch is spellbinding.
I gaze in amazement at life down below and experience
A true sense of calm and peaceful wonder.
Your delight in my transcendentalized being
Must surely be intentional; I am quite uniquely absorbed
In your trust and guidance.
Some of our more pivotal tasks are also some
Of our more majestic climbs;
I feel your strain as you cope with these difficult encounters;
But if your mind could become as open and aware
As your superbly regal and compassionate heart,
You would achieve excellent understanding
And we would together be rewarded.
The heart knows what it knows, and it must know Love.
May nothing ever come between you and I,
And may we love in the most ideal and timeless way
For many years to come.
