Lawyers for the Arts Programs

Lawyers for the Arts Programs

These programs are mostly nonprofit. They exist to provide affordable
or free legal assistance to low-income artists (including writers)
and those painters, musicians, performers, writers and filmmakers who
can afford some legal assistance but need
help locating an appropriate attorney to help with contract negotiation,
preparing for small claims court, copyright challenges, incorporating,
setting up a nonprofit, applying for a trademark or patent, etc.

Several also offer workshops and useful self-help publications
