Extinguished Flame
Where once was warmth is now frigid cold

A flame was once lit here

by the declaration of your love.

Thoughts of one day sharing forever

sent warmth throughout my bones.

But over time the fire flickered

as gentle breezes turned to cyclones.

Hard as the blaze tried fighting them

the winds were too strong to control.

Eventually the warmth took departure

leaving a frigid darkness within my soul.
