"Escape ..."

** #1506675 Not An Image **

I see it!
There is a way out,
To be free!
I must try
To escape from the horror
Of my memories.

It is hard
To forget the past,
But I must.
For if not,
I will surely lose my mind.
And stay locked inside.

This type of poem is called a "shadorma".
It is a syllabic poem that probably originated from Spain.
It has six lines - (a sestet) with a syllable pattern: 3/5/3/3/7/5
