Southern Woods
I cherish my walks through these southern woods. The fragrance of pine trees overwhelms my senses, and I am lost in the moment. I feel serenity in the gentle lapping of the water, as it laughs at the stones in its way. The leaf-carpeted earth beneath my feet, and the autumn painted canopy above me, remind me of God's love of beauty. His presence fills my soul, and I rejoice at the bounty I see all around me. He must surely enjoy the laughter of the brook and the swirling of scents from the bouquets of wildflowers that are strewn amongst the tree trunks. What a measure of His love, that He would share this beauty with us! Pat Nelson January 14, 2009
