Tonight
Just let me close my eyes and drive away the fear. The fear of the known, Engulfing me in its arms. Shall I give into it or run for my life? Lifted by powerful arms but with tender touch and care, Tilting my face upwards with the slight touch of a finger, It looks askance into my eyes. There, I see the pain of my resignation. Delicately touching the hollow of my back, I’m lead towards light. Once there, the figure, on its knees, holds my hands in its and leaves a soft imprint there. It then turns and walks off into the dark, Leaving me standing amidst light, with a tear in my eye…
