A TALE OF LOST LOVE

Somewhere far off in the distance
The little girl huddles near a tree
With a pen in her hand
Trying to write another masterpiece
The air is refreshing
Her mind is relaxed
And the thoughts flow onto the paper
Weightlessly with no effort
The caress of surrounding nature
Speaks to her mind
Speaks to her soul
And so she sits there
And weaves a tale of emotion
A tale of a sweet love turned bitter
A tale of a love that is lost forever
For her one true love has vanished
Vanished from her world to be with another
As if the love they have shared meant nothing
Nothing but a fling that came and went
When in her heart it seemed to be the beginning
Of a love that would never die
