LOV, LAF AND DIE
I know a bird who sat in cage He cried all day long He sang the saddest song As he sat all alone And sang this song Lov, Laf and Die A lady bird flew by She looked in the window Stepped in with a sigh She wanted to hear more Of this sweet song of woe Yet, it didn’t feel sad It actually made her glad To think about why He would want to Lov, Laf and Die The cage door opened wide And he invited her inside Next, he walked her down the aisle Many friends came to smile His song was sad no more His lady love had come in his door Now that his love had begun He could not sing the song Lov, Laf and Die There were many little birds to feed They moved from the cage to the trees There they found all of their needs They were happier than all of the bees Loving so completely Laffing so discreetly Dying in Peace by Earthene Fleming June 16, 2006 Author's Comments: "I actually dreamed this poem and wrote it just as it was in my dream. The bird was singing: "Lov, Laff, and Die" and narrated the story (including the spelling of the title: Lov, Laff and Die). I think it is delightful. I hope you find it amusing and satisfying."
