GIFTING TRILOGY
PART I You taught me loyalty Jehovah taught me loyal love What I did bring to you? Children who demanded pain and offered joy A family who embraced you A mother who finished your training A father who tried your patience Thus, you learned discipline You, however, won Why? Because of your loyal love Your affection for me You had the sense to carefully Choose the fight We sang together You held me when I cried I was there When your stoic shell collapsed Into tears on bending knees We faced the West winds Stood still in the East We faced the East winds And retreated to the South We shivered in the cold of the North And sweltered in the South’s dry heat Hand in hand; face to face We came through it all With our Faith in tact by Earthene Fleming July 14, 2004 Author's Comment This the first of three inspired expressions of this union.
