I COULD NOT SLEEP
To Those Who Toil Through the Night.

I Could Not Sleep
Because there was so much more to do
I could not close my eyes
When things were not thru
Not with my long-time lover
Or my daughter
Nor my sons
I could not sleep until it was done

I had to show what I could do
I could actually aim
Plan and bring
Vision plus clarity
Pulled up on a string
By a rope with rungs
I Could Not Sleep
Until it was done

I would need one good word-Go!
Two, good words insure that I might
Come awake in the middle night
No sleep will remedy my plight
Just the pleasure of being
Creating and Succeeding
Thinking and willing myself to Act!

Author's Comments:
"I forgot that I had composed this poem. It was another tribute to the lonely night of working alone. You might have read my: "Lord, Let the Morning Come".
