DON’T TEASE THE PRINT TO KILL THE HOUR
I was late on my piece About the Kilimanjaro I climbed up to the peak It took me more than a week But I didn’t tease the print To kill the hour It finally was “turn- in Day” My Editor was pleased With no dismay Because I didn’t tease the print To kill the hour (chorus) I was working away On my story all night Coming asleep in the broad daylight But I did not tease the print To kill the hour Earthene Fleming August 7, 2003 Author’s Comments This is another one my creative dreams. I dreamed I owned a Gift Shop and this well-dressed, professional couple came in. While I was talking to her, her husband was singing this song. He was a reporter. She told me that he was always singing about his job and I should write the song down. I even remember the tune, though, I can’t sing it.
