SPINNING A WEB OF DECEIT
Silken threads glisten in the early light of dawn, moving gently as the spider weaves on and on. It will catch the unwary insects that happen by, luring them in, as is its nature; safety is a lie. So like the spider is the web that man creates. spinning a web of deceit with his little white lies. We listen, believing in the torrent of promises given us, not hearing the meaning in his sighs. Like the insect tangled in a spider's silken web, we fight knowledge that we are forever trapped. We will not survive unscathed in attempt to flee, we struggle in vain as all our energy is sapped. It is perhaps, the nature of the man to deceive. Nature, at it's most destructive, takes its toll. Yet we who still can believe in the best of men will not ever let deceit remain to claim our soul. Silken threads glisten in the early light of dawn, moving gently as the spider weaves on and on. So like the spider is the web that a man creates and on this likeness the wise woman meditates.
