ICY HAND OF WINTER
Winter's chill has invaded my bones and I fear that within the icy hand of winter, death is near.. Join the homeless, enduring bitter cold outside, who sleep under a cardboard blanket, no pride left and all hope for them is gone, If it ever existed. All hope for them is gone, if it ever existed here on the streets and back alleyways, it is clear that they are left to die alone, they cannot stand. Life for them was not always this way, they demand no mercy, all hope for them is gone, if it ever existed. The old suffer the cold, too proud to ask assistance, they do not need the looks of scorn or the resistance of the welfare workers who count all the pennies there. There's a need for food and fuel, but they don't care and now all hope for the old is gone, if it ever existed. The young have dreams and brave the icy winter blast, they don't know hunger or that good times don't always last. It is the poor and lost, the old and infirm that cry in vain for relief of the pain to be felt in their lives once again. They have lost all hope, forever gone. If it ever existed.
