As Christmas Eve was closing in,I was getting more and more ebullient and planning ideas on celebrating it.My little brother was dreaming of the presents that Santa would bring him and was really excited about that.

Eventually the day arrived ,I woke up  early in the morning and was telling my brother about the possible gifts that Father Christmas would bring this year. This not only made his dreams even more colourful, but also spread an aura of happiness everywhere.Mom was busy in the kitchen preparing a delicious dish with bacon and eggs.Dad presented a red balloon which ultimately burst deflating his spirits.Dad then went for gardening and began to shift earth with a broken shovel. The day passed well, with festivity all around. The only sad thing that happened was,few chrysanthemums had withered in our garden.Every year they bloom fully to bring a smile to our faces.Though this year was an exception,it did not affect our vivacity and sprightliness a bit.Night arrived, with the promise of a new morning, and I went to sleep with a quilt.

The next day I woke up late.Seeing my brother crying caused a sense of alarm.I approached him and asked"Why are you sobbing,my dear brother?"Choked with tears ,he murmurred "Why?Don't you know that Dad has had a massive heart attack?"I was stunned at his reply. All my colourful dreams were shatterd instantly and I felt like collapsing. The floor beneath my feet seemed crumbling and I began to stagger a bit.

I asked for my Mom.He replied that she was in the nursing home with my father who had been hospitalised.I asked for the details and immediately went there along with my brother.

I reached the cabin,I saw my father lying on his bed.I nudged him to say "Hello ,Dad"; but he was motionless. Then the countenance of my Mom,petrified as a stone, caught my attention. Then I realised what had happened.Jesus had taken my dad to his Heavenly Abode to leave us forever.Tears began rolling down my cheeks.I looked across the sable sky and saw a humming bird, with its wings humming a plaintive song that pierced my heart and torn it to shreds.
