 An Angel's Prayer Rated:

I dreamt of an angel praying... for us all.

Praying Angel [#1518732]
praying angel

I dreamt of an angel kneeling,
there was sadness in her face.
She was in a wondrous meadow
and her tears seemed out of place.

I wondered, as she knelt there,
why she’d venture far from home
to this particular time and place.
What led her to roam?

She bowed her head in prayer
in an angelic fashion.
Seeing her in such a pose
my heart filled with compassion.

I listened to her prayer
of resurrection and rebirth.
It was a prayer of hope
for the future of the earth.

I went to kneel beside her
to add my prayer and plea
when suddenly she looked up
and that’s when she said to me:

“I am only an angel,
I can do no more than pray
but you can change the world
with your choices everyday.

My prayers were not for God
to save this wondrous place.
They were for you to stand up
and take your rightful place.”

Suddenly it was clear to me,
she was praying for our sake.
We didn’t need a miracle,
the future was ours to make.

Notes

Prompt: venture far from home

Thank You for taking time to read my words. Please, take a few moments more and leave a comment. Criticism, suggestions, praise are all equally welcome. Smile
