Cardboard box
by Michelle Klear

Shivering to the bone
Living in a cardboard box
Society cast away
Our frustration on display
Soon we will need hospitalization.

Regardless of pain
Confrontation not rewarded
Street-wise we must stay
Shoe-string living in our shame
Away in a cardboard box.
