RISPETTO
The Rispetto is a poem of two quatrains with the rhyme pattern of: a, b, a, b – c, c, d, d. It is written in meter (usually iambic tetrameter), and a Heroic Rispetto is usually written in iambic pentameter. SAMMY’S MONSTER The monster under Sammy’s bed Has great big teeth with which it feeds. “I am not scared of him,” Sam said. “I’m not the kind of food he needs. Each night when Sammy’s dreams are bad, The monster eats a sumptuous feast Of things that scared the little lad. That’s why he loves the toothy beast.
