"TELLING TRAILS" There was an old house with no one inside, Just four houses down the block. They found a car and they took a ride, Went to the house and then they broke the lock. They opened up the door and they stepped into... An eerie unfamiliar scene. Whoa to them for what they had found, The scene could turn a man to green. There was a shadow of a no legged man, And a woman who was missing her head Both of the shadows, they were seen together, With the room being coated blood red. They took a second and they glanced around, They shuttered when they noticed one thing... The sofa bed was colored blood red This left only one conclusion to bring. It dawned on the two what they ought to do... About the uncovered murder scene They got into that noisy old stolen car And left the place still unseen. They sealed their lips tight about that dreaded night... Because of their stolen ride. The one and only thing they didn't think about... The bloody shoeprints that they left outside Just then the police pass by, They see the bloody prints on the walk. They call for backup as they park the car, The whole neighborhood begins to talk. Backup arrives, and they go inside... They notice all the blood in the room. They follow the shoe prints back outside, Jump in the car, and then away they zoom. It seems that the car thieves left another trail, Although they would deny it later. They didn't kill a soul, but they were framed... By a faulty old carbeurator. B.L. Houghtalin
