THE BOAT OF LIFE
Life is like a boat we row Hard in troubled waters, Trying to face the current And go safely across. Sometimes we are swallowed up In the whirlpools of fate. Sometimes we manage to have A journey rather smooth. But there are times when the ride Simply does get bogged down, And we curse our fate that in The end we have just failed. In such moments it’s best to Remember this saying: “Often when the boat is stuck, The coast is not far off”. • Written in 7-6-7-6 syllabic format. M C Gupta 26 January 2009
