My Flowers from Someone Else’s Seeds I planted what you gave me I have begun to notice I find more inspiration there in my friends’ gardens than I do in my very own. I seem to absorb more beauty and depth of mystery in another gardener’s delightfully rambling rose. When my daisies start to droop, I look for a place to go. surveying the surrounding slopes and hills where flowers grow I tiptoe with silent steps when the owner’s not at home, and enchanted by the variety; I see seeds I could sow. Then I run back down the hill with excitement in my soul, I take the new seeds I’ve gathered and plant them in a row. Till the soil, water carefully, pull the weeds that wander in; in a little while, the young buds of life begin to show. When in full bloom, I gather the bounty of my harvest and take it to my friend whose garden I had surveyed. I then gratefully and humbly present my scented gift, together with joyful hearts we delight in the bouquet. Copyright © January 27, 2009 by Karen M.
