Mass Confusion
I pin myself to cardboard walls and wash away your fucking misconceptions I ride those waves and curse into the wind just to make myself feel strong Don’t build your house on crashing waves. Their loud confusion doesn’t match your eyes This is the type of thing I write poems about A day where insanity seems to knock on front doors No I won’t open, I don’t want to buy it Not what you’re selling. Not what you have What you think I am doesn’t exist. A gentle cover to hide fear and greed I’m not a good person, not a good daughter, not a good friend I fake it well though. I know what they want to hear Hang this rock from my neck. I carry it with dignity The anxiety bubbles like champagne in my mind Who am I kidding? Its pop at best Still I try to put on pretentions and act like I believe it MASS CONFUSION, the only way I know See the masses toss and tumble like mindless creatures They run like lemmings off cliffs, proverbial cliffs if you get my drift I try to be poetic in a world that knows only money and fucking timecards I’m no use here. No use here. No use here Let me find a place.
