Petunias of a different kind
We gotta keep our eye on old folk.

...The flowers had been doing well. Dad looked over them daily and we were anticitapting them blooming in the coming months. Just him and my grandmother "Big Mama" lived there, so I felt the plants would be relatively safe.
Yesterday I went to take Big Mama on her on her monthly errands and decided to go out back and take a look at their progress. As I walked to the back of the shed I was shcoked at what I saw. All the flowers had
been uprooted, pots turned upside down. I let out a cry as I tried to
recessitate the dead leaflets. Who did this? Do we have a raccoon?
On my way home I was mad. Just as I pulled on my street, here come pops walking. When he got in the car I started fussing about his negligence in taking care of the investment. He told me he was not responsible. "This has happened before but I bet it won't happen again". "Big Mama pulled them up she thinks they're weeds".
Sweet, innocent Big Mamma pulling up plants. She knows better. Didn't say a word as we went around town. Laughing and joking, with me not seeing her for the murderer that she is. I see even grandma's got game.
We think that this is the last of the killings. Daddy showed her a thicket in the grass and told her to go there and prune if she felt the need to pull up weeds in the future.
And now hopefully, the Petunias can flourish.
