Today Is The Day (January 29, 2009) Seating for two, room for one, She sits and stares At the empty chair in front of her. The glass of wine between her slender fingers Tastes extremely bitter, And so do the tears that sting her face. Only a year ago today, Was the day when she first tasted love; Now a year later she tastes the death, The bitter hollowness of being alone, Being without the one who lives deep in her soul, The one for who love burns in her heart. His presence still roams this world, But it roams the world of another, A being who holds no connection, No resemblance to the soul she is, To the flesh that hides the spirit Roaming inside her. Their relationship was picture perfect. Everything was exactly as they desired, Yet there had to be a viral spec, An invisible molecule that spread itself Through them, through their existence, And tore them apart bit by bit. No one knows how it happened But today is the day she tasted love and death, Drank the sweet and the bitter juices. Today is the day that her love has died Taking her soul along with it, And every crumb that lay in her wake. From my 4th book Diary of a Crush
