And The Band Plays On

Sometimes when I listen to the radio today
I know the music just ain't the same
What happened to the Sergeant Pepper's and the Purple Haze
I wonder what might have been

But I know somewhere in heaven
Farther than, far beyond
There is a little tiny stage and you can feel the rage
As the band plays on

They have the sounds of good ol Jimi
You can hear the voice of the Lizard King
There is a Rolling Stone named Brian Jones
And you should hear them sing

Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly
Just love to set and play
You can feel the groove when they all let loose
To the jamming of Stevie Ray

They have the wailing of ol Janis
There are some folks who call Alabama sweet home
Someone brought a walrus, who imagined he could call to us
And Mr. Bonham played drums

So if you ever think you feel the music
And its something you just can't explain
Then look above, and feel the love
Pouring down like rain

Because I know somewhere in heaven
Farther than, far beyond
There is a little tiny stage and you can feel the rage
As the band plays on

They have the sounds of good ol Jimi
You can hear the voice of the Lizard King
There is a Rolling Stone named Brian Jones
And you should hear them sing

Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly
Just love to set and play
You can feel the groove when they all let loose
To the jamming of Stevie Ray

They have the wailing of ol Janis
There are some folks who call Alabama sweet home
Someone brought a walrus, who imagined he could call to us
And Mr. Bonham played drums
