Glimpse of a spirit
Though they say its a waste of time A silly little girl still follows her dreams Though she may not make it very far Nothing anymore is what it seems Music dances from an old worn flute Finger placements up to high g down pat Off and on for years and years still played Forever treble clefs, sharps, naturals, and flats The pen too speaks from her heart Opening imagination's door Memories thoughts joys and sorrows Forever journals crowding the shelves and floors A camera sits carelessly left on her desk An object permitting the cut of realities ties Photography too will never cease to exist in her heart Forever takaing pictures of the flowers clouds and sky Unfinished canvases hidden behind her bed Art to be hidden from the world's relentless gaze Boxes of brushes water colors oils and acrylics Forever waiting for the return of those rainy summer days Dusty old books too crowd her shelves Research unraveling a mystery Iris, geisha Anne and Henry the VIII Forever a passion for history Though they said she was wasting her time A little girl did follow her dreams she landed far beyond the stars the spark of her life finally started to gleam
