Live colourfully,
Discard the overfriendly grey, Let misery keep its own company, And take creativity by the hand. Kiss it, nurture it, shield it from the bland, And throw it out into the world, Let it observe, let it stand Through blizzards, heartaches and storms. Allow it all of its varied forms, Feed it with the black coal of loathing, Spread its fields green with envy, until it warms With a deep, lustrous red of desire. Burn through all your life, light its fire, Until it burns with white-hot, passionate purity, Let it cool to yellow happiness, run it thin as wire, Allow the suspense to explode. Poet! make your coloured code Known through all that you impart upon the paper. Empty your heart and shift your load Onto the white, willing, waiting page.
