Destiny, Lost…

How brutal are my feelings
As sadness comes to stay.
How selfishly I live my life –
How far I’ve gone astray.

I’m humbled beyond reason
Within my own despair.
I find myself a martyred fool;
A soul beyond repair.

In lessons that I preach.

Oh Spirit in the Sky;
I sit upon a vacant chair
With life just flashing by.

I know Thy force has purpose;
Thy will drives sane men mad!
Dear God!  I’m in this barren space
So empty and so sad.

I grasp for understanding
Within Thy inner realm.
I beg of Thee, please hold me up!
For me – Ye overwhelm…
