without your love I’m still an unfilled vessel
devoid, like the new moon’s light, of brilliant rays
my nights of blue-gray shadows make me wrestle
with wings of rhyme that chase my empty days

from ancient portals of doubt’s grasp I flee
on song-filled wings, shimm’ring stars I traverse
I seek your temple above the gray-blue sea
joyous, my humble heart’s confines have burst

within your waiting arms my soul is kindled
you are my hearth stoked warm with rosewood fire
come dawn, my tenderness no longer dwindles
I yearn for this rushing peace I call desire

oh moon, sweet silv’ry ray of hope, dear shrine
enlightening my life with love divine

temple of the night sky
