There is no Greater Reason

You brave the cold,
and fight the heat.
You bear the rain,
and stand the sun.

You sit for hours,
and do nothing but wait.
You sit for hours,
and do nothing but work.

You go home,
So late at night.
You sit at the table,
eating a cold dinner.
And you wonder,
is it worth it?

Then you take the stage,
Or the field.
Or just sit on your own.

And you play,
and play.
And, in the mix of playing,
your questions are answered.

You do because you love,
and there is no greater reason.
