TO TERRENCE DARNEL
Terrence Darnel is your name Never aspiring to elusive fame Tracked and recorded genius IQ You wear it as though you never knew You and Tracey Jon are like twins Bonded from the day you began You arrived in the same month and three days Separated by a year and very unique ways It has been my pleasure to watch you grow You filled my existence all the more Your choices were always so correct Surprising us when you did wrongly select Someone with whom eternity to spend Not just a momentary friend If you choose not to retrace that path My respect for you will certainly last I am blessed by your presence Encouraged by your quiescence Made proud of your maturity That was marked by your tranquility You carefully choose your battles Made our lives so much better I do learn from you firsthand Computer skills, new trends, I understand Thank you so much for patience so rare You really deserve a break that‘s fair All my hopes for you embrace Honorably stand tall in Jehovah’s face This poem is totally mine to give With the hope you will always live You will act and you will shine In your reflection, there exists mine Your Mom Earthene Fleming Monday, August 22, 2005 Author's Comments: "In my quest to write a poem for and dedicated to each of our five children, I offer this one to Terrence Darnel."
