![]() Angel Of Twilight, Angel Of Dawn O! and there above you, you shall stand - by the seaside shoring mists and wait your time before the Broken Angel who keeps those tragic, wayfaring lists Of names begotten forlornly, and the fall of the broken great mast; the ripped canvas sails strickened, far-flung upon sinking ship cast Down ... down further, into an enveloping blackness abyss, grasping the tacking, cursing the slackening of the shrieking sea's mournful grist. Windmilling, spiraling, O seafarer hireling, you'll hail as many of the angels that vie -- whether light or dark --stained in the pitched darkness, you'll discern their reflecting eye But one will come for you most surely, dost knowest this whilst thou dangle? For you will be summoned, like mankind uncommon by the most knowing, most Darkest Angel Upon the desert plain of greatest depth those hands shall gather you 'round; and to lift you surface-wards once again up above that angry, forlorn Sound Hath no fear, nor pardon seek for the One that awaits summarily for you; as ransom paid not one moment too soon your next Life shall ne'erless start anew For the Abyssean Angel is swept wing'd back upon her journey's completion alone, takes swift leave of you there, seeking her shipwreck'd lair -- upon a smooth strand left undone. As wept-faced you sit obliquely upon the sands of that tempest-tossed, forlorn shore, unbeknownst to you there hovers just beyond - one Gothic Angel more. Praying, yes prithee there is this One who is watching over you; And welcomes you to the newest Life as together now you watch others ... sail true. - For the brave fishermen ... of Gloucester, Massachusetts.
