Little Lamb (a.k.a Lovely Little Lamb)
I'm considering putting this to a set: "Songs of the Nurturer". More intro in the file.

a poem I put together, in some ways it's one of my favorites I've done, in other ways it's my least favorite. As usual it has religious undertones, a TON of wordplay/consonation/alliteration, and plays on the border of formal and informal poetry. However, it's probably my most personal poem (not to go emo or anything)

((NOTE: this poem goes back to a style I adopted in high school that I don't use that much anymore if you're familiar with my collegiate works. words with "ed" are to use that ed as a syllable, if it's written with an apostrophe [i.e. I walk'd to the store] the "ed" part does not count. In other words I "walk'd" versus I "Walk-ed"))

Lovely Little Lamb of finest fleece,
Who cares not to touch Thy tiny tail?
For as he sees such soft delight
in tiny twirling-soft and frail,
his fen of fear of frailty fades:
his warm warmth wean’d off weary wades.

Lovely Little Lamb of finest fleece,
who cares not to hear Thy humble call?
For as he hears such soft lambsong
in noble notes give joy to all,
his heavy heart is haste’ly healed
and brought to peace of peace’s field.

We love Thee Lovely Little Lamb,
for Thou, the Loved Lovely Little Lamb
is simply such, and in such action
appease our appeals for lovely love.

Lovely Little Lamb of softest skin,
who cares not to see such serene eyes?
For in those eyes his rest resides
where, in turn, his pain turns and hides,
where ‘tis wash’d in warming warm balm-
soothe’d away in soothing psalm.

Lovely Little Lamb of softest skin,
Who cares not to wear your warm heartbeat?
For in this heartbeat heart is found,
Qualms acquitted- a rest is found.
And heavy hearth huffs beating sound
Where holding hands release- relax’d
at last as pangs quietly cease.

We love Thee Lovely Little Lamb,
for Thou, the Loved Lovely Little Lamb
is simply such, and in such action
appease our appeals for lovely love.

Lovely Little Lamb of finest fleece
Who dares to be Thee, the Little Lamb?
Who’s thy Lamb, the Lamb of Lamb
with finer fleece and softer skin?
We love Thee Lonely Little Lamb
but dare not do thy doing.
Little Lambs leave little tears-
leave our fears (now your tears)
we seldom strain to peace.
