Musing by the blue sea
The past comes back.

Musing by the blue sea

The vacant wooden bench by the sea
Looked inviting as a restful haven
Relaxing by the blue expanse
I let my thoughts to wander.

They flew in different directions
To people and places far and near
To times happy and sad
Reflections on life’s vicissitudes

I clearly remember the distant train
With people teeming in the aisle
That lonely girl with a lost look
Her bag clutched ever so tight.

She waited by the door peering
Into the dark night descending
She looked apprehensive, yet excited
To journey with a soul mate, searching for

A destination that might
Bring their dreams to realize
A happiness that might last
Beyond the daily cares?

The white veil of mist seemed to hide
The uncertain fate of the forlorn maiden
Whose eyes emitted rays of hope.
I wish them happiness by God’s grace.

I came awake from the waking dream
By the frolicking seagulls on the blue
Calm aquamarine translucence
As I mused on the vacant wooden bench.
